Depression : It is okay to not to be okay

Kevin Breel was just a teenager when he shared his moving and heartfelt story about his journey with depression. He is now the author of the memoir: Boy Meets Depression. A high achiever, captain of his sports team, popular with lots of friends, and a stand-up comedian, Kevin was the last person people would imagine to have depression. But, as he says:  “Beneath my smile there was the struggle, beneath my light there was dark, and beneath my personality there hid an even bigger pain. Depression is not something you feel when something in your life goes wrong, Real depression is being sad when everything in your life is going right.” It broke my heart to know a 19 year old guy has been through a lot of pressure in life.

Depression is real. Just like malaria leads to fever and can be cured by medicines, Depression is the Mental Illness which can make a person dull, off shine and disinterested towards life.

Depression makes person left caught up in the triad :

  • Hopelessness
  • Helplessness
  • Worthlessness

Depression is a clinical medical condition. It’s as simple yet complicated as we know the symptoms of a cough, typhoid and other physical diseases, we instantly go for medical treatment. Family start taking care. It’s just that. Depression if not medicated and taken care of can turn life to hell.

Today, It is very important to be completely aware about your mental health and peace. Clinical study of depression, it’s causes, signs, symptoms and cure are very profusely defined in the given medico link.

Check answers to the questions:

  • Don’t just say, DO!
  • Depression is a strong word, Please don’t use it in anyway normal daily issues.
  • Keep in touch with the bunch of people you know. (You don’t need to take care of the full world, just your people are enough) .
  • Don’t take social media activities so seriously, (following hate and criticism).Live in the present real world.
  • Look forward to make your life, Dream.
  • Change world by setting an example not by giving opinions.
  • Don’t make depression seems a hypothetical illness. (It is not a rich people thing).
  • Don’t hate, Be kind to the world.
  • Make real life long relationships and keep them up alive till death.

According to WHO, more than 264 people all over the world of all ages are suffering from Depression. 15-35 is the most common age when people may have mental problems and can even suicide. We need to take this Seriously.

My First Post

Hello World,

After goggling ,doing a lot of research, thinking tremendously and NOT coming to the point of what should I write to make it my very first special blog post. I am writing this . Hope I don’t screw up.

Right when you get an idea of doing something to actually turning it real is a big deal. Especially when you have the superpower of overthinking , overplanning,  over analyzing your each thought . No, that’s impossible, it’s risky, what’s the point, Give it a try, I came a long way. Pat! Pat! Appreciations and claps.

Yashvita! Yeah! That’s my name. Hey everyone. I am an Earth science fellow. I am a kathak dancer, painter,not so good singer,ambitious cook, reader,   Writer ,motivator ,nature lover and humanitarian. I am a volunteer at NSS. I have always been studious ( I come first ,Yay!) .I like to explore and learn.You can’t put me in a box.

It’s said think before you speak, I believe it should add ‘Read before you think’. Making right opinion needs Reading.  Strong belief system should be supported by facts and knowledge. The change we want to see in the world can be done by right mindset with positive attitude. And the mindset should arise from correct direction. So, Read!
